Fond du Lac police used pepper spray and a Taser to take a Fond du Lac man into custody following a drunk driving crash. The incident happened December 8th in the area of Military Road and Western Avenue. Police say the car sped through a red light at the intersection of Western and South Main, before veering off the road striking a tree near the intersection of 4th and Marr Streets. When an officer approached the vehicle the man began walking quickly toward the officer ignoring warnings to stop. The offier used a Taser and pepper spray before additional officers arrived and were able to take the man into custody.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
