Incumbent Fond du Lac School Board members Eric Everson and Susan Jones are up for re-election next spring. Jones is circulating nomination papers seeking her sixth three year term. Everson was first appointed to the board in 2005. Linda Uselmann has taken out papers to run. She ran in the spring election earlier this year but was defeated by incumbent board members Mark Strand and Julie Nett. The filing deadline is Tuesday January 6th. The spring election will held Tuesday, April 7th.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
