A Fox Lake man accused of sexually assaulting a Fond du Lac woman while she slept has been bound over for trial. Thirty nine year old Marlin Snake pleaded not guilty in Fond du lac County Circuit Court to second degree sexual assault of an unconscious victim and criminal damage to property as a repeat offender. According to a criminal complaint, a Fond du Lac woman told police she had been drinking with Snake at a friend’s house on Nov. 26 in the city of Fond du Lac. The woman said she later fell asleep in a bedroom and was awakened to find Snake having sex with her. Snake is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on $50,000 cash bond.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
