12-15-14 anti-abortion agenda

todayDecember 14, 2014

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin’s anti-abortion groups have drawn up their wish list for the next legislative session.  Wisconsin Family Action hopes to fortify the state’s so-called right-of-conscience laws, which allows people to act or not act in accordance with their religious or moral beliefs. The group supported a failed constitutional amendment last session that would have prohibited the state from punishing anyone for exercising his right of conscience.  Wisconsin Right to Life, meanwhile, wants to see legislation banning abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy and bans on doctor-assisted suicide. Pro-Life Wisconsin wants to ban the sale of body parts from aborted fetuses and renew an effort from last session to create “Choose Life” license plates.  Republicans control both the Assembly and Senate. Spokeswomen for GOP leaders in both houses didn’t immediately return messages.
