The executive director of the Fond du Lac Area United Way says this year’s fundraising goal will be met or even exceeded. Tina Potter says the fund drive has been steadily running ahead of last year’s pace. “As of today we’re at 75% and I’ve been doing the numbers and we’re going to meet our goal,” Potter told WFDL news. The goal is $745,000.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
