MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin’s elections board is considering changes to its model ballot design following a lawsuit earlier this year that argued the ballot was confusing and unfair. The Government Accountability Board was to vote Tuesday on what it wants a model ballot to look like for the spring election. Counties are required to “substantially follow” the model ballot but ultimately local officials can design the ballots as they wish.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
