todayDecember 16, 2014

Waupun police have arrested two people wanted in separate cases.  Police Chief Dale Heeringa says a 20 year old woman was arrested at a Gateway Drive location for a felony drug warrant.  “As they were taking her into custody officers noticed she was fumbling around with things in her pocket and tried to hide things or dump things,”  Heeringa told WFDL news.  “They found she was also in possession of drug paraphenalia.”  Herringa says police arrested a 22 year old Waupun man who has eluded authorities for several months for multiple felony warrants.  “He would actually call the PD, I talked to him on one occasion and he was more or less upset  we were trying to find him for these warrants.  It was kind of a catch me if you can type thing,”  Heeringa said.   Heeringa says officers staked out a place where they learned the suspect may  be and noticed three individuals leave a home and get into a car.  Officers conducted a traffic stop, but noticed there were only two people in the car.  Heeringa says the suspect tried to prevent officers from arresting him by climbing in the trunk of his car.  “He held on to the trunk lid, they (officers) had to get him out of the vehicle at gunpoint.”
