12-8-14 fdl county fair wants more time to repay loan

Mercury Marine has earned “Green Master” designation from the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council for the fourth consecutive year, keeping the Fond du Lac manufacturer in the top 20 percent of the 175 participating companies. 12-8-14 gudex receives state senate committee assignments

Republican state senator Rick Gudex of Fond du Lac has been named chair of the Senate Economic Development and Commerce Committee.  Gudex has also been appointed vice chair of the Workforce Development, Public Works and Military Affairs Committee.  He will also serve on the Committee on Universities and Technical Colleges and Joint Legislative Council and is on the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation board.   The committee assignments were annouonced this week. 12-6-14 fdl county sheriff’s office investigating residential burglaries

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a series of daytime residential burglaries where thieves are looking for medications.  Sheriff’s detective Pete Vergos says four burglaries of unoccupied  homes have been reported in the last few weeks in the towns of  Eldorado and Ripon.  Vergos says the thieves are looking for medications and  have also taken cash and jewelry.  Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Office Tip […]

12-6-14 trash compactor fire at merc

Nobody was injured in a fire in a trash compactor at Fond du lac’s Mercury Marine.  Fire chief Pete O’Leary says firefighters were called to the scene near plant 17 shortly after 11am Friday.  O'Leary says the trash bin was pulled away from the side of the building while crews worked to extinguish the blaze.

12-5-14 gas station robbery

Fond du lac police are investigating an armed robbery at a gas station.  Police say the Marathon gas station and convenience store on South Main Street was robbed shortly after 8pm Thursday.  Police Lieutenant Tony Hahn told WFDL news at the scene a black male entered the store and displayed a handgun.  No injuries were reported.  Police are looking for a suspect.
