MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A coalition of more than 300 construction-related private businesses in Wisconsin has formed to oppose a right-to-work proposal being discussed by Republican leaders in the Legislature.  The coalition was announced Wednesday by its spokesman Steve Lyons. 12-18-14 fdl man convicted in tucker’s armed robbery

One of three men arrested in connection with the robbery of a Tucker’s restaurant employee four years ago has been convicted of an amended charge.  Thomas Livangood pleaded no contest to false imprisonment, battery and theft.  He was originally charged with armed robbery.  A pre-sentence investigation was ordered.  Livangood and two others were arrested in the robbery of a Tucker’s restaurant employee in May of 2010.   Police say the […]

12-18-14 fdl men charged in drug-related armed robbery

Two Fond du lac men are charged in connection with drug-related   armed robbery.  Delaney Watt made his initial Fond du Lac Court appearance Tuesday  and Prentice Shipp is expected to appear in court this week. 12-18-14 fdl man sentenced in hit and run injury crash

A Fond du Lac man has been convicted and sentenced in a hit and run injury crash.  Marcus Jones pleaded no contest to one count of hit and run causing great bodily harm.  Fond du lac judge Gary Sharpe imposed and stayed a one year prison sentence with two years of extended supervision.  Jones will spend 120 days in the county jail.  Police say Jones was driving a car that […]

12-18-14 stripper shows up at wrong residence

Fond du lac police say a stripper apparently showed up at the wrong residence.  Police received a call Tuesday afternoon from a woman who said a black woman showed up at her Forest Avenue apartment and started taking off her clothes.  The caller told officers that she had never seen the woman before this incident.  Police searched the area but did not find the alleged stripper.

A Fox Lake man was killed after crashing his car during a high speed chase.  Police say 25 year old Ethan Plath died after crashing his car into a tree Monday along Highway 33.  The State Patrol says the chase started in Fox Lake, when the police chief attempted to pull Plath’s vehicle over.  Plath did not pull over and the chase continued south for nearly 18 miles along Highway […]

12-17-14 wi ranked as 12th highest taxed state

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A new analysis finds that Wisconsin is the 12th highest taxed state in the country and third highest in the upper Midwest.  The nonpartisan Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance said that was based on Census data on tax collections Tuesday.
