The Campbellsport School Board is expected to take action to place a $25 million school building referendum on the April ballot. The board will consider will consider adopting a resolution at their meeting Monday evening. A community survey last fall showed only 41 percent of respondents indicated they would likely support the original $35 million project. District administrator Paul Amundson says the district has been studying the issue for over two years. He says the major component of the plan is replacing the portion of the building that was built in the 1930s. The survey found 88 percent believe Campbellsport schools play a significant role in promoting the community and 82 percent were satisfied or very satisfied with Campbellsport schools.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
