A Milwaukee man accused of robbing a Fond du Lac woman at knifepoint has been charged. Forty three year old Antwon Brown made his initial Fond du Lac court appearance this week on charges of armed robbery, recklessly endangering safety, false imprisonment and possession of heroin and cocaine with intent to deliver. Bail was set at $100,000 cash. According to a criminal complaint Brown attacked his ex-girlfriend at an Ellis Street residence December 23rd, accusing her of stealing drugs. According to the complaint Brown hit the woman, held a knife to her face, and stole jewelry from her purse. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 8th.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
