A Fond du Lac County man was injured after he was attacked by a deer he shot while crossbow hunting. The Fond du lac County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened Friday evening on the Peebles Trail near Highway K in the town of Taycheeda. The Sheriff’s Office says the 72 year old man was tracking the deer when the animal struck him in the leg with her head. The man was transported to St. Agnes Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
