1-6-15 new dodge county sheriff

The new Dodge County sheriff is beginning his first full week on the job.  Dale Schmidt was sworn into office Monday and says he will be meeting with his administrative team Tuesday to make sure everybody is on the same page moving forward.  Schmidt says his message to the department is that every employee is a leader.  “From the first person hired at the entry-level position up to my position, everybody is a leader,”  Schmidt told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.  Schmidt says there are a number of issues that were discussed during the campaign that will be the focus right off the bat.  “Some of the things we talked about in the campaign such as New World, our records management system, our heroin epidemic that we are currently dealing with.  We’ve got some steps we’ve got to take, so a lot of things coming to the forefront.”   Schmidt says becoming sheriff is a dream come true.  “Its been a goal of mine since I started in law enforcement.”
