The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has updated its list of heating centers around the state for people to get out of the dangerous cold. The list is available here: https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/files/warmingsites0106.pdf.
The list is also available on the DHS web site at https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/climate/weather/cold.htm. This page includes valuable information for people to protect themselves from frostbite and hypothermia, carbon monoxide poisoning, and other cold weather risks.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
