A Waupun man accused of shooting at a car that pulled into his driveway faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. Seventy seven year old Larry Bronkhorst is charged with recklessly endangering safety and obstructing an officer. According to a criminal complaint a Fox Lake man pulled into the driveway to read lighted anti-Obama signs near the road when someone shot out the driver’s side window of his vehicle. He suffered a minor injury to his hand from broken glass. Bronkhorst says he thought the car occupants were going to vandalize the sign.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
