A Fond du Lac man has been charged in connection with the heroin overdose death of another Fond du Lac man. Twenty one year old Jeffrey Hiley is charged with first degree reckless homicide and manufacture-delivery of heroin both as a repeat offender. Hiley is accused of supplying the heroin that led to the death of Corey Lawson last May. Hiley made his initial court appearance Thursday. Bail was set at $100,000 cash.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
