1-24-15 fdl high school stages second musical

todayJanuary 23, 2015

This February, Fond du Lac High School is producing another musical where there would have typically been a winter comedy. This production, Into the Woods, which will run on February 12, 13 and 14 at 7:00 p.m. required a great deal of commitment from the performers, given the fact that they auditioned last May and many put on another show, White Christmas, in between.  According to Steve Wilson, the director, the fact that there is a movie out of the same show “really works in our favor.  While the story lines are similar, significant cuts were made in the process to go from live theatre to a movie.  The musical is a bit darker in tone and has very relevant messages to send about selfishness, working together, and the relationships and challenges that exist between kids and their parents.  Having the movie out there will provide OUR audience with story background so they can better follow the live action.” Mr. Wilson added relative to the movie’s theme, “What begins as a lively irreverent fantasy becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children.”  General admission tickets are available in the main office of Fond du Lac High School from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and at the door each performance night.  Cost is $10 for adults and $7 for students and children.
