1-26-15 prosecutor shortage

todayJanuary 25, 2015

The Dodge County District Attorney says there’s a crisis facing prosecutors around the state.  DA Kurt Klomberg joined members of the Wisconsin District Attorneys Association at the State Capitol last week to meet with legislators about the high turnover rate among assistant District attorneys.  Klomberg says pay progression legislation approved last year has helped reduce an 18.4 percent turnover rate among ADAs, but  says DA offices are still understaffed.  Klomberg says the lack of prosecutors has impacted the caseload in Dodge County and Is an issue of public safety.  In November the Dodge County Board approved a resolution backing Klomberg’s request to the state for two additional prosecutors.
