OWEN, Wis. (AP) — A plane crash in central Wisconsin has killed one person and injured two others. Clark County Sheriff Greg Herrick says the victim was a passenger in a Cessna 182 that was trying to make an emergency landing on a road in the town of Hoard at about 9:15 a.m. Monday. Two other people in the plane suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman says the plane was traveling from Menominee, Michigan, to Litchfield, Minnesota.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
