The head of Fond du Lac Festivals says Lakeside Park is a perfect location for Taste of Fond du Lac. Fond du Lac Festivals Director Leanne Doyle will update the city council this week on the decision to hold the Taste at Lakeside Park’s Oven Island on August 23rd. “The Fond du Lac Fairgrounds venue is a nice venue, however this event is somewhat pinched in,” Doyle told WFDL news. ‘There’s really no opportunity for growth, and anybody who goes to it knows you can be elbow to elbow.” Doyle sys the decision to move the event to the park and during the summer was made after visiting a number of food-taste events throughout the state last summer.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
