A Fond du lac man accused of sexually assaulting a child several years ago has been convicted. Thirty seven year old Anthony Tennis entered an Alford plea to a charge of repeated sexual assault of a child. Several other charges were dismissed and read into the record. An Alford plea does not admit guilt but acknowledges a probable guilty finding by a jury. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 27th. The victim who is now an adult says Tennis sexually assaulted her when she was a young child.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
