A Fond du lac high school student was seriously injured in an accident in the high school wood working shop this week. Assistant police chief Steve Thiry says two boys were fooling around near the end of the school day Wednesday when one of the boys fell and suffered a severe laceration to his head. Fond du Lac fire chief Pete O’Leary says the student was transported to the hospital.
Two longtime Fond du Lac firefighters have retired and five officers were sworn into office this week after receiving promotions. Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a home in Brandon. Firefighters from several departments were called to the scene at W12534 Liner Road for a report of an attached garage that was on fire. Fire Departments from Brandon, Waupun Alto, Markesan, Ripon, Lamartine, Rosendale and Fox Lake were called to the scene. The Red Cross was also called to assist.
A Fond du Lac teenager was arrested after police say he sent a fake text message to a friend that he shot himself and needed to go to a hospital.
