1-27-15 boy dies in lake winnebago accident

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — An accident on Lake Winnebago has taken another life.  The Winnebago County Coroner's Office says an 8-year-old boy has died after he was pulled from the icy lake water Sunday. The child's father died shortly after their Jeep broke through the ice about 7 a.m. The victims were from Sussex. Authorities say the two were on the lake to ice fish when they broke through.

CABLE, Wis. (AP) — Supporters of North America's largest cross country ski race want to raise $2.3 million to renovate the trails where it's held in northern Wisconsin. The Dodge County District Attorney says there’s a crisis facing prosecutors around the state.  DA Kurt Klomberg joined members of the Wisconsin District Attorneys Association at the State Capitol last week to meet with legislators about the high turnover rate among assistant District attorneys.  Klomberg says pay progression legislation approved last year has helped reduce an 18.4 percent turnover rate among ADAs, but  says DA offices are still understaffed.  Klomberg […]
