1-24-15 fdl high school students support food pantry

1-24-15 uw madison cat lab closed

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The University of Wisconsin-Madison has closed a controversial cat research lab. University spokesman Chris Barncard confirmed Friday the lab quietly closed months ago. He says the professor who ran the lab is on the path to retirement. 1-24-15 narcan saves lives in fdl

Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue says the number of heroin overdose cases locally are on the rise.    Firefighter-paramedic Joe Godalpske says Fond du Lac paramedics administered the heroin antidote Narcan 88 times last year, up from 79 in 2013.  Twenty six patients had their conditions improve after being administered Narcan.  Goldapske says suspected overdose calls were 30 percent higher in 2014 and there were  two confirmed heroin overdose deaths […]

This February, Fond du Lac High School is producing another musical where there would have typically been a winter comedy. 1-23-15 highway 23 fatal crash victims identified

The victims of a fatal traffic accident on Highway 23 east of Fond du lac have been identified.  The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says  four year old, Landen Wachter,  and his father 37 year old Christopher Wachter of Sheboygan Falls died in the crash.  Sheriff’s sergeant Jeff Bonack says the victim’s car crossed the center line on 23 near 7 Hills Road, clipped an SUV and then was […]

1-23-15 man injured by self-inflicted gunshot

A man was flown to the hospital after apparently shooting himself  at the 151 Scenic Overlook in the Township of Taycheedah.  Shorty before noon Thursday the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s  Office received a report of a suicidal subject and deputies found the man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  The subject was transported to Theda Clark Medical Center via Flight for Life Medical  Helicopter.   The condition of the man is […]

(AP) — The Wisconsin Assembly has passed a constitutional amendment that would rework how state Supreme Court justices pick their leader.  The Wisconsin Constitution states that the justice with the most seniority is the chief justice. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin's unemployment rate remained at 5.2 percent in December, unchanged from November.  The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development reported Thursday that the state added 7,600 private sector jobs from November to December.  The unemployment rate is Wisconsin's lowest since the economic crash in September 2008. 1-23-15 fdl man convicted of exposing himself to young girls

A Fond du lac man has been convicted of exposing himself to young girls at Taylor Park last summer.  At a plea and sentencing hearing in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court, William Thomas, pleaded no contest to three counts of exposing genitals to a child.  Two counts were dismissed and read into the record.
