Starting Monday Fond du Lac High School students are going to school for ten additional minutes each day…five minutes at the beginning and five minutes at the end. New hours at Fondy high are 7:55am to 3:25 pm. Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert says the move allows school staff to concentrate on administering the ACT tests to all juniors on Tuesday, March 3, and Wednesday, March 4, while the rest of the student body gets a day and a half off of school. The plan calls for grades 9, 10 and 12 to be off of school on March 3 and return at 11:45 a.m. March 4. The time would be offset by making the planned early release day of Friday, March 6, a full day of school for all high school students.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
