The Fond du Lac City Police Department’s K-9 dog helped track down a Green Lake County hit and run suspect over the weekend,. Assistant police chief Steve Klein says K-9 Packo and his handler Officer Ben Hardgrove were called to help locate the suspect near the Lawsonia golf course. Klein said the suspect, a 21 year old Ripon man was found hiding in a wooded area several miles from the crash site.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
