Republican state senator Rick Gudex of Fond du Lac says in general he supports the budget unveiled this week by Republican governor Scott Walker. “My overall reaction is that the governor put forward a budget that takes into account the pressures of a tight budget,” Gudex told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program. “There’s some things in there that certainly I agree with there are some things that maybe we raise our eyebrows and say we should take a look at them and see what this really means.” Responding to concerns that the budget would cut SeniorCare by $15 million. “I think we all realize we have a population that’s aging and it might not be a good time to cut services for seniors.” Gudex says a lot more will be known in April when the new revenue estimates comes out. Gudex says he would like to see more money going toward public education.
