A Fond du Lac teenager convicted of sexually assaulting an 8th grade girl has admitted to having sexual contact with nearly 30 underage girls when he was a student at Fond du Lac High School. Fond du Lac judge Peter Grimm sentenced 18 year old Keenan Robinson to four and a half years in prison and five years extended supervision. Robinson was convicted of third degree sexual assault. The judge said he was concerned that Robinson was a danger to reoffend. A year ago Robinson was arrested for child sex assault and lewd and lascivious behavior for exposing himself at Lakeside Park and was ordered by juvenile intake to take classes and receive counseling. Neither case was referred to the DA’s Office. Jan McDonnough is the director of ASTOP, an organization that serves sexual assault victims. McDonnough says the case behooves that parents are involved in their kids day to day lives and become educated. McDonnough says part of the problem is the mass media message that is being sent young people. “You need to know what they’re watching, know what they’re texting, be aware of their friends, and educate them,” McDonnough told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program. Fond du Lac school superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert says the case is a shocking, isolated incident. “Very unique case obviously, not happening in school, but with students from the school. What hits my mind is continued education,” Sebert told WFDL news. “…the reason we talk about those things in health class, and the reason we do the surveys continually to look at kids choices, and help educate kids about what are good choices and appropriate choices.”
