
Life Saving awards presented to deputies Taylor Nehls and Michael Matoushek
On Saturday, February 7, 2015 the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office held a recognition dinner at Bayside Supper Club.,…honoring new employees, retirements, years of service, promotions, and letters of commendation from 2014. Life Saving Awards are issued to any member of the Sheriff’s Office whose actions directly contribute to saving or significantly prolonging human life. Deputy Michael Matoushek, Deputy Jaime Buelter, and Deputy Taylor Nehls all received the Life Saving Award for various incidents that occurred in 2014. The Meritorious Service Award is for outstanding job accomplishment that has contributed to a more effective and efficient Sheriff’s Office. Four members of the agency were honored with this award. They are Correctional Officer Ryan Jackson, Deputy Secretary Arla Folbrecht, Patrol Sergeant Dennis Walston, and Communications Sergeant Christine Churchill. Finally, on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 a deputy and three citizens will be recognized at the Dodge County Board meeting for lifesaving efforts that occurred at a Motor Vehicle Crash on State Highway 33 at Dakota Rd. Deputy Michael Morell and Citizens Donald Wellnitz, Timothy Mader, and Rebecca Mader will all be honored for their work in saving the life of one of the driver’s in the crash. “It is not only my privilege, but my duty to recognize these individuals for their exemplary service to the community. They are all humble human beings who will likely tell you “they are simply doing their jobs”, Dodge County Sheriff, Dale Schmidt said.
