Fond du Lac police arrested a man who ran into traffic on Johnson Street and demanded a police officer shoot him. Police were called to a report of a domestic disturbance Tuesday morning in the 100 block of East Johnson Street. When an officer arrived on the scene the 24 year old man ran into the street waving his arms and shouting for the officer to shoot him. The man was taken into custody and transported to jail.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
