Moraine Park Technical College is accepting applications for three positions on the Moraine Park District Board. Openings exist for an employer member, employee member and school district administrator member; each is a three-year term of office that expires June 30, 2018. Applicants must submit a completed application, including at least two written references and must attend the public hearing of the District Board Appointment Committee tentatively scheduled April 6, at Moraine Park Technical College. Applications may be obtained from MPTC or the county board chairperson of any county in the MPTC district. Applications will be accepted through March 6.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
