The Department of Public Works would like to inform the motoring public of the temporary closure of East Division Street between Main Street and Portland Avenue. The closure will begin Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. and should re-open at approximately 5:00 P.M. The closure is due to a crane being placed in the street for work being completed at 1 N Main Street, The Retlaw. The public is asked to plan an alternate route during this time as there will not be a marked detour.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
