2-17-15 new transmission line proposed for southern fdl county

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democratic lawmakers say they hope Gov. Scott Walker will change his mind and accept federal dollars for Medicaid.  Rep. Daniel Riemer of Milwaukee and Sen. Jon Erpenbach of Middleton have proposed a plan to expand Wisconsin's BadgerCare coverage. 2-17-15 prison inmate death ruled a homicide

PORTAGE, Wis. (AP) — Sheriff's officials say the death of a state prison inmate in Columbia County is a homicide.  Authorities said Monday an autopsy shows 40-year-old Jerome Scott died by ligature strangulation at the Columbia Correctional Institution. Investigators say Scott's cellmate is accused of killing him Feb. 12. The 42-year-old cellmate is apparently cooperating with authorities. 2-16-15 sturgeon spearing-opening weekend

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — Sturgeon spearers took 467 fish on Lake Winnebago on the opening day of the season.  The Department of Natural Resources says that's more than 100 over the average opening day harvest, and the fifth-biggest since sturgeon spearing switched to a 6-hour day in 2003. Spearers registered 13 sturgeon over 100 pounds from Lake Winnebago, the largest being 127 pounds.  They didn't fare so well elsewhere. The […]
