A baked potato lunch is scheduled for Thursday, March 19th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at two locations in Fond du Lac: City/County Government Center, 1st floor, 160 S. Macy Street, and Harbor Haven Health & Rehabilitation Cafeteria located at 459 E. 1st Street. The cost is $3.00 with proceeds donated to the Fond du Lac Area United Way. The event is sponsored by the Fond du Lac County Employee United Way Committee.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
