Nine women are competing for the Miss Fond du Lac crown. The contestants are Breanna Branson, Stephanie Cheevers, Amber Schmidt, Taylor White, McCayla Thoe, Rachel Page, Samantha Ball, Rachelle Wuest, and Keisha Finstad. The 52nd annual pageant includes the Miss Wisconsin Central and Miss Outstanding Teen contests. It will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 14 at Goodrich Little Theatre. Tickets are $15 each and will be sold from 6 to 8 p.m. March 11-13 at the Goodrich Little Theatre ticket office. Remaining tickets will be available at 6 p.m. March 14. Winners will receive scholarships and advance to the Miss Wisconsin Pageant.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
