A Theresa man has been arrested for allegedly stealing nearly $24,000 from a gas station where he worked. Forty seven year old Randal Mittelstadt, made his initial appearance in Dodge County Circuit appearance this week on a charge of theft from a business setting. If convicted, Mittelstadt faces up to six years in prison. According to the criminal complaint, Mittelstadt took money from the cash register over the period of about a year to support a gambling addiction. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23rd.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
