The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has scheduled a public information meeting to discuss the reconstruction of Front Street/Highway 33 from Spring Street to Maple Avenue in the City of Beaver Dam. The meeting has been scheduled for March 17th from 5 until to 6:30 p.m. at the Old Depot at 127 S. Spring Street. Project staff and contractor representatives will be available to discuss the construction schedule and answer questions regarding the work that will take place this summer.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
