WFDL news has learned Fond du Lac police are talking with a person of interest in connection with recent burglaries at Mike’s Music and Eaton’s Pizza in Fond du Lac. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says the suspect was arrested Wednesday. “Our detectives are in the process of interviewing that individual to see if he is responsible for the Mike’s Music burglary as well as the burglary at Eaton’s Pizza and a couple of other retail theft incidents,” Klein told WFDL news. Klein says it appears the Mike’s Music and Eaton’s Pizza burglaries are related. He says store surveillance video from the Eaton’s break-in helped identify the suspect. In both burglaries entrance was gained by smashing through the front door. Mike’s Music was burglarized early Saturday morning. Eaton’s Pizza on North Hickory Street was burglarized early Tuesday morning.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
