A lengthy prison sentence for a man convicted of robbing a Beaver Dam bank in October of 2012. Dodge County Circuit Court Judge John Storck sentenced 45 year old Kenneth Asboth Jr. to 10 years of initial confinement and 10 years of extended superivsion. Asboth pleaded no contest in March of 2014 to a charge of armed robbery with threat of force. He was accused of entering the Associated Bank on Park Avenue with what was described as a small black handgun, and fled the scene on foot with 1,300 dollars. Asboth was also ordered to pay restitution.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
