3-25-15 concealed weapons in schools

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A former sheriff is telling lawmakers they need to allow off-duty and retired officers carry concealed weapons in schools. A bipartisan group of legislators has proposed a bill that would let off-duty officers and qualified retired officers to carry guns on school property. Former Walworth County Sheriff David Graves told the state Senate's judiciary committee that the bill would allow those officers to stop school shooters.

3-25-15 man sentenced in tucker’s restaurant robbery

One of three men arrested in connection with the robbery of a Tucker’s restaurant employee five years ago has been placed on probation.  Fond du Lac judge Richard Nuss placed Thomas Livangood on three years probation with 90 days in the county jail for his role in the incident.  Livangood earlier pleaded no contest to false imprisonment, battery and theft.  He was originally charged with armed robbery.  Livangood and two […]

3-25-15 accident victim identified

Authorities have identified the Fond du Lac man who died after being pinned underneath a pick-up truck.  Sheriff’s captain Rick Olig says 26 year old Mathew Wiese was pronounced dead at the scene in the driveway of  his residence on Voyager Drive in the Ashwood Grove Trailer park Monday.  Olig says Wiese was working under the truck when the accident occurred.
