4-3-15 dodge county dog attack

A Reeseville woman was seriously injured after she was attacked by a Pit Bull.  At 11:47am on Thursday Kathy Ackley age 53 of Reeseville was walking her Dachshund on North Main Street in the Village of Reeseville when she was attacked by a pit bull.  The pit bull had escaped from a fenced in back yard and ran across the street attacking the victim. She received numerous puncture wounds as a result of the attack and was transported by EMS to Beaver Dam Community Hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries.  The Dachshund also received puncture wounds and lacerations requiring immediate veterinary care. A citizen was driving by and was able to restrain the pit bull on the ground while waiting for emergency responders.  The pit bull died while being restrained on the ground.  It is believed that had the dog not been restrained, more severe injuries to the victim would have been likely.     The pit bull was owned by Elsia Acevedo age 31 of Reeseville.
