On Tuesday Mayville school district voters will head to the polls to decide the fate of a 23 million dollar high school renovation referendum. Voters will see two questions on the ballot…$19.3 million for a new secure front entrance, classroom and infrastructure updates and new auditorium. A second question asks permission to spend $3.7 million for a new gymnasium. Superintendent Dr. Pat Antony says the owner of a $100,000 home would pay 110 dollars more in taxes per year if both questions pass. Antony says the needs are not going to disappear.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
