A fire Monday night has claimed the life of a Town of Black Wolf man. The victim has been identified as 64 year old Harold Dekarske. Firefighters from several departments were called to the scene on Highway 45 in the town of Black Wolf to find the home fully engulfed in flames. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Highway 45 was closed between Country Club Road and Fisk Avenue for several hours reopening at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
