A Fond du Lac man arrested in connection with a fight last month that seriously injured another Fond du Lac man has been charged. Twenty six year old Elias Falcon-Silva made his initial court appearance this week on charges of aggravated battery and disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $10,000 cash. He initially fled the scene and was later arrested after getting off a bus in Dallas, Texas. Assistant police chief Steve Klein says the victim was transported to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee with bleeding on his brain after he was repeatedly kicked in the head during a fight outside the Ried Terrace apartments March 13th. Thirty five year old Lucio Falcon-Silva is also charged in the case.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
