The public is invited and encouraged to visit the newest attraction at the Fond du Lac City County government center, thanks to the Fond du Lac Exchange Club.  Dedication ceremonies were held this week for the Freedom Shrine,  featuring an impressive, permanently mounted collection of 24 of the most important and historic American documents.  County board chairman Marty Farrell says the Freedom Shrine is a mini history lesson of the United States with replica documents that include the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence.  Farrell says if some of these principles could be enacted on a worldwide basis it would be a much more peaceful, happier, free and prosperous world.   Fond du Lac County executive Al Buechel says its fitting that the Freedom Shrine is located on the wall directly opposite of the legislative chambers.  President of the Fond du Lac Exchange Club, Randy Martin,  says he hopes the public takes time to visit the shrine and read the documents.
