Investigators say inattentive driving is to blame for a two vehicle crash east of Fond du Lac that sent a Fond du Lac woman to the hospital. Rescue personel were called to the scene on Highway 23 at Tower Road Thursday afternoon. A westbound vehicle operated by a 30 year old Fond du Lac woman rear ended a west bound vehicle operated by a 52 year old Fond du Lac man waiting to turn south onto Tower Road. The female driver was extricated from her vehicle and transported to St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
