A Fond du lac man accused of sexually assaulting his adopted special needs daughters over a period of more than a decade has been found not guilty. A Fond du Lac jury on Friday found 67 year old Kenneth Kirchner not guilty on three counts of child sex assault and one count of child abuse. According to a criminal complaint Kirchner adopted the three sisters after they were removed from their original home after being sexually assaulted by their biological father.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
