A Milwaukee man who was accidentally shot during an armed robbery in Fond du Lac County is going to prison. Fond du Lac judge Gary Sharpe sentenced Danny Morris to five years in prison followed By ten years extended supervision. In December Morris.entered an Alford plea to a charge of party to the crime of armed robbery. One count of burglary and two counts of theft were dismissed and read into the record. Morris and two other men were arrested in connection with the December 2013 robbery at a town of Auburn home on Double D road. The three were accused of attacking a man and woman inside the home. Authorities say Morris was accidentally shot in the upper torso during the incident and is now in a wheelchair

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
