4-20-15 car fire-highway 41

A portion of Highway 41 in Fond du lac County  was closed for a short period of time last night  due to a car fire.  The state patrol says the southbound lanes of 41 were closed at Hickory Street.  The incident was reported at 8pm Sunday.  All lanes of traffic reopened about a half hour later.

4-20-15 dogs at fdl animal shelter are receiving canine flu vaccination

All dogs in the Fond du Lac Animal Shelter or arriving at the shelter are being vaccinated  for canine flu following an outbreak that has sickened many dogs in the Midwest.  More than 1,000 dogs in Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio and Indiana have come down with the illness.  Animal Shelter manager, Renee Webb, sasy the virus has been identified as H3N2, which is believed to have come from Asia and its […]

4-20-15 2014 was record year for jury days in fdl county

2014 was a record year for the number of jury days held in  Fond du Lac County.  Records from the Clerk of Courts Office show there were 87 jury days last year compared to 46 in 2013.  There were 46 jury trials in Fond du Lac County last year, up from 23 in 2013.  Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says  the 19 felony jury trials were also […]

4-20-15 dangerous fire conditions

Area fire departments have been busy this weekend responding to several controlled burns that became out of control.   Fond du lac area fire departments responded to a number of grass fires on Friday and Saturday.  High winds and dry conditions  are combining to make the fire danger level high in east central Wisconsin.  The DNR has issued another Red Flag alert for extremely high fire conditions in central Wiscosnin.  Fond […]

4-20-15 shoplifter arrested after assaulting loss prevention officer

A 32 year old Montello woman was taken into custody after allegedly shoplifting from a Fond du lac department store and assaulting the store’s loss prevention officer.   Police were called to a shoplifting report at Kohl’s Department store in the Forest Mall Saturday afternoon.  Police say the suspect was inside her vehicle and refused comply with officers requests to get out of the car.  Police blocked off a portion of […]
