MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Mini-shots of hard alcohol will soon be offered at liquor and grocery stores in Wisconsin under a bill Gov. Scott Walker has signed into law.  The Distilled Spirits Council announced Wednesday that Walker had signed the measure in a private ceremony. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Natural Resources Board has voted to maintain a three-walleye daily limit in the Ceded Territory of northern Wisconsin.  The state is replacing a system that adjusted the limit yearly depending on how many walleye were taken by Chippewa tribes in the region. There is a new face on the Fond du Lac school board and a longtime  Incumbent has been ousted.  Challenger Linda Uselmann was the top vote getter in Tuesday’s election with 3,392 votes.   "I'm so excited, I'm so thankful for everyone who helped make this happen,"  Uselmann told WFDL news. A challenger, incumbent and appointed councilmember were all victorious in Tuesday’s race for Fond du lac city counci.  Greg Giles who was appointed to the council last summer received the most votes with 2,544.   "I'm very thankful that people believe I have some leadership that I can bring to the city council and I'm honored,"  Giles told WFDL news.  Challenger Brian Kolstad was close behind with 2,469 votes.  Incumbent […]

4-8-15 campbellsport school referendum fails

A Campbellsport school referendum has gone down to defeat.  Voters rejected the $25 million building referendum 1,429 no votes to 1,137 yes votes.    School administrator Paul Amundson says the school board will now review the results and decide what the next step will be.  A major portion of the project involved demolition and replacing a section of the middle-high school that is more than 80 years old.  Amundson says the […]

4-8-15 mayville school referendum defeated

Mayville School District voters have rejected a high school renovation referendum of up to 23 million dollars.  Voters voted down both referendum options.  With 1071 “yes” votes to 1261 “no” votes, Question One asked to spend 19.3 million dollars for a new secure front entrance, classroom and infrastructure updates, and a new auditorium.  With 941 “yes” votes to 1379 “no” votes, Question Two asked to spend 3.7 million dollars to […]
